#COL-1A Colombianite specimen, 18 grams in weight. Each one unique.
Colombianite is a semi-translucent Tektite from Columbia that's part of a family of crystals that are formed from a meteorite impact. When a meteorite hits the ground, super heated earth is flung into the upper atmosphere where it cools to form into a glass. This debris then fell back to earth and is now collected by the indigenous peoples of Columbia. There is some contention on whether Colombianite is a true Tektite or not or if it was actually formed from a huge volcanic eruption.
