#ASTRO-1B Astrophyllite specimen

#ASTRO-1B Astrophyllite specimens from Russia, each one unique. Stunning copper colored crystals imbedded in matrix, approximately 1 - 1.5 inches long.

Astrophyllite is a very rare hydrous potassium iron titanium silicate mineral. Our Astrophyllite is from Russia - one of the few localities in the world where it can be found. Our specimens display a rich, shimmery copper color, and are in their original matrix. Astrophyllite is of interest primarily to scientists and collectors.
From the Greek άστρον ("astron") for "star" and φύλλον ("phyllon") for "leaf", in allusion to its habit of starburst-like sprays and micaceous cleavage. It was named by the German chemist, geologist and mineralogist Carl Johan August Theodor Scheerer (1813-1875) in 1854.
Metaphysical Properties: expands spiritual perception and consciousness. Astrophyllite has been called ‘a gateway to the stars’ for both its beauty and metaphysical reputation.
