These crystals were found on the top of a hill that was to be mined for quartz. They were found in sand, independently of eachother - not as clusters. Rutilated Quartz is identified as quartz crystal containing rutile crystals growing within it. The chemical composition of rutile is titanium dioxide, and occurs as “hairs” or thin, straight crystals, with a metallic lustre. Metaphysical Properties: Rutilated quartz is known to intensify the power of the quartz crystal. Excellent for astral travel. Affects both etheric and astral bodies. Vivianite is a hydrated iron phosphate mineral found in a number of geological environments. Small amounts of manganese, magnesium, and calcium Ca2+ may substitute for iron Fe2+ in the structure. Pure vivianite is colorless, but the mineral oxidizes very easily, changing the color, and it is usually found as deep blue to deep bluish green prismatic to flattened crystals. Vivianite crystals are often found inside fossil shells, such as those of bivalves and gastropods, or attached to fossil bone.
