Libyan Desert Glass

Libyan Desert Glass is a golden translucent Tektite from Libya and Sudan that was formed from the impact of a meteorite. When the meteorite hit the ground it super heated the sand which caused it turn into a silica and zircon glass. Known also as Golden Tektite, it has been used by many cultures in their spiritual rites and was even found in the tomb of King Tut, embedded into his breastplate as a carved scarab beetle.
