We are Bestcrystals.com, purveyors of crystals and minerals from around the world, since 1994.

This company began 31 years ago from humble beginnings, living and traveling in a van, mining quartz, geodes, and other minerals and selling and sharing them. We then sold locally at an outdoor market on the west coast, then opened a small boutique shop. When we made the decision to be internet-based in 1998, we were one of the first of a modest number of websites dedicated to crystals and minerals on the internet. Then our business blossomed. We have filled thousands of orders, and have served customers in all 50 states. We also established a warehouse showroom, The Portland Crystal Company, which now has an exceptional reputation as the best place to shop for crystals in Portland, Oregon.

We have passed ownership of The Portland Crystal Company store to one of our dedicated staff members. We have now transitioned back to online sales only, showcasing some of our best acquisitions for you. Our website has been rebirthed, and will expand and offer an ever-changing variety of select crystals, minerals, fossils, and meteorites. Thank you for joining us. We appreciate your engagement and interest in a field that we hold dear.

Technical information

We use Hugo as our site generator and content management system, Git-annex for managing media files, and Shopify as a cart/checkout system.

Our theme and all templating code has been developed from scratch in-house, only using a few vendored CSS and Javascript libraries:

• Normalize.css

All media (including text, images and videos) on this website is intellectual property of Pisces Trading Company unless noted otherwise. Commercial use is not permitted without express permission.

HTMX and the Hyperscript library (used here) are developed by Big Sky Software. Normalize.css is provided from Nicolas Gallagher.

The 12 monochrome Zodiac graphics/symbols are licensed under CC-BY-3.0 and adapted from the Wikimedia Commons, located here and created by user Tavmjong.

The 7 Chakra graphics are also from the Wikimedia Commons, created by user Morgan_Phoenix and licensed under CC-BY-SA-4.0 and have been modified (removed the gradients).
